Job Title: Instrument Operator

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Assist the Survey Crew Chief in daily field operations.

• Set up and operate survey instruments including total stations, GPS, levels, and data collectors.

• Perform measurements for boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.

• Maintain field equipment and ensure proper care and calibration.

• Record and organize field data accurately.

• Follow company safety standards and protocols on job sites.

Essential Skills

• Experience in land surveying or related field (1-3 years).

• Familiarity with survey equipment such as Trimble.

• Ability to work outdoors in various conditions and lift/carry equipment.

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

• Team player with good communication skills.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CST level 1 or CST level 2 certification is a plus.

• All certifications will increase candidate's pay.

Work Environment

Employees must report to the office every day at 6:30 am. A company vehicle will be provided to travel to job sites. The company is transitioning to submitting reports via iPhone/iPad. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eastpointe, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
