The Google Cloud Platform Project Manager will lead cloud initiatives within Ascension s Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, ensuring delivery of secure, compliant, and scalable cloud solutions aligned with healthcare operational and regulatory requirements. The role combines project delivery, cloud governance, cross-functional coordination, and vendor management to support Ascension s digital transformation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & ExecutionLead end-to-end project delivery for Google Cloud Platform migrations, cloud modernization initiatives, data engineering programs, and application deployments.
Develop project plans, sprint schedules, resource allocations, risk logs, and communication plans based on Ascension s PMO standards.
Drive Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and ensure high-quality project artifacts.
Partner with engineering, architecture, security, compliance, clinical operations, and vendor teams to align project milestones with business goals.
Facilitate communication between technical teams and business leaders, translating non-technical requirements into actionable work items.
Present updates to executive stakeholders, steering committees, and governance boards.
Ensure projects comply with Ascension s cloud security, HIPAA, HITECH, and data-privacy requirements.
Support implementation of Google Cloud Platform services such as:
Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions
BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub
VPC, IAM, Cloud Logging/Monitoring
Coordinate security reviews, architecture assessments, and cloud-cost optimization efforts.
Develop mitigation plans for risks related to cloud migration, infrastructure changes, vendor dependencies, and clinical system integrations.
Manage change-control processes following Ascension governance frameworks.
Ensure all deliverables meet healthcare regulatory requirements and GxP standards where applicable.
Work with Google Cloud teams, system integrators, and managed service providers supporting Ascension s cloud program.
Manage contracts, SLAs, and third-party deliverables.
15+ years of IT Project Management experience, with 5+ years leading Google Cloud Platform or multi-cloud projects .
Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform architecture, networking, IAM, data pipelines, and cloud security frameworks.
Experience implementing solutions in regulated environments (healthcare preferred).
Hands-on Agile/Scrum experience; Scrum Master or PMP certification preferred.
Proven ability to manage complex dependencies, cloud migrations, and cross-functional technical teams.
