Timed entrance reservations are required from May 24-Sept 2, 2024, to enter the Paradise and Sunrise Corridors between 7:00 am-3:00 pm.

  2. Timed Entry Reservation

    A timed entry reservation is required from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm for two areas of the park: (1) Paradise Corridor entering through the Nisqually and Stevens Canyon Entrances, and (2) Sunrise Corridor entering through the White River Entrance. Each corridor requires a separate vehicle reservation. Timed entry reservations are good for a single day, per vehicle, and are required in addition to an entrance fee or park pass.

Paradise Corridor Reservation

Required to enter the Paradise Corridor in summer 2024.

A timed entry reservation is required from May 24-Sept 2, 2024, to enter the Paradise Corridor between 7:00 am-3:00 pm. The Paradise Corridor can be entered from both the Nisqually Entrance in the southwest corner of the park and the Stevens Canyon Entrance in the southeast via SR123.

Exceptions

Visitors with reservations at the National Park Inn in Longmire, Paradise Inn, or Cougar Rock Campground within the Paradise Corridor can use proof of their reservation for entry to the Paradise Corridor (does not apply to the Sunrise Corridor). Visitors can use Wilderness, Climbing, and Special Use permits for the dates, times, and location their permit is valid to enter the park.

Sunrise Corridor Reservation

Required to enter the Sunrise Corridor in summer 2024.

A timed entry reservation is required from July 4-Sept 2, 2024, to enter the Sunrise Corridor between 7:00 am-3:00 pm. The Sunrise Corridor can be entered from the White River Entrance in the northeast corner of the park via SR410.

Exceptions

Visitors with first-come, first-served (FCFS) White River Campground permits within the Sunrise Corridor can use proof of their permit for entry to the Sunrise Corridor (does not apply to the Paradise Corridor). FCFS permits can be acquired before 7 am or you may need a Sunrise Corridor Timed Entry Permit if you want to try to acquire a FCFS between 7 am and 3 pm. Visitors can use Wilderness, Climbing, and Special Use permits for the dates, times, and location their permit is valid to enter the park.

Choosing an Entrance Pass

Do you have or qualify for a discounted America the Beautiful Pass?

If you already have an America the Beautiful—the NationalParks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, that's the only entrancepass you need. Seniors, military, visitors with a permanentdisability, and families with a 4th grader are eligible for a freeor discounted America the Beautiful pass.

Don't forget reservations

Entrances are generally staffed during daylight hours, though may be staffed earlier or later. If entering the park outside of daylight hours, purchase a pass at the next available staffed entrance (card/electronic payment only). Entrance passes can also be purchased in local communities (cash/card). NOTE: Passes will not be available online through Recreation.gov during the timed entry reservation period May 19-September 2, 2024, but must be purchased in person.Printed vouchers are preferred, but digital vouchers will be accepted for the standard entry fee only: the Single Vehicle 1-7 day pass. If you have purchased any type of Annual Pass or want to upgrade a Single Vehicle pass, a printed or downloaded digital copy of the voucher is required.

Grants unlimited entry for one vehicle and passengers for seven consecutive days. Vehicle must be private, noncommercial, and with a seating capacity of 15 or less.

NOTE: There are no current road restrictions for unmodified motor coaches of the standard length in the park. However, be aware that roads in the park are steep, narrow, and winding. In particular, it is recommended that RVs and vehicles with trailers longer than 25 feet LOA not travel up the Sunrise Road beyond the White River Campground intersection.

Grants unlimited entry for one year to pass owner and passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle. This pass does not cover camping fees and is non-transferable and non-refundable. If you already own a valid annual or lifetime pass (Interagency Senior, Annual, Military, etc) you do not need to purchase this pass. NOTE: The Discover Pass is for Washington State Parks only and does not cover Mount Rainier National Park.

America the Beautiful Passes are non-refundable, non-transferableand cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Passholders must showvalid photo identification (ID) with each pass.

Passes can be purchased or picked up at over 1,000 federal recreation sites.

2024 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

  • Monday, January 15 — Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Saturday, April 20 — First Day of National Park Week
  • Wednesday, June 19 — Juneteenth
  • Sunday, August 4 — The Great American Outdoors Act
  • Saturday, September 28 — National Public Lands Day
  • Monday, November 11 — Veterans Day

Note regarding Military Pass: Available for current US military members and their dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as most members of the US Reserves and National Guard. Proper military ID required (CAC Card or DoD Form 1173).

Note regarding Fourth Grade Pass: Available for US students in the fourth grade. Before coming to the park, please get a voucher from the Every Kid Outdoors website and bring the printed voucher to the park to get the pass.

  • Education Fee Waiver - Groups from qualified education institutions are eligible for a fee waiver if they are coming to study park resources. Fee waivers must be applied for at least one month prior to your planned visit. Complete an Education Fee Waiver application and email to mora_fee_waiver@nps.gov. Applications accepted by email ONLY; no fax or mail-in applications
