Union Representative / Business Agent

Based in North Brunswick, NJ

This Professional Health Care Union seeks a Representative/Agent for servicing and coordinating the activities and functions of their assigned Local Chapters.

Responsibilities Include:

• Work with Union and Local Leadership to negotiate and administer contracts, including grievance, arbitration filings and contract interpretation
• Member mobilization through various forms of communication
• Local structure development
• Some political activity
• Reporting to Director and following office policies and procedures

Qualifications:

1. Commitment to a union philosophy
2. Working knowledge of the union perspective of labor relations, obtained by education and/or experience
3. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
4. Demonstrated knowledge of health-care professions and/or delivery systems (preferred)
5. Highly motivated and capable of working in a team as well as independently
6. Prior Union experience required, in a healthcare setting preferred

Compensation:
Minimum salary is $60,000. Higher offer would be commensurate with experience. Generous benefits package offered including, health insurance after 30 days, vacation, and immediate pension plan participation.
