Substitutions

  • Peanut Butter Flavor: Instead of chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, you can substitute peanut butter chips for the peanut butter flavor in another form.
  • Chocolate Flavor: You can substitute Nutella for the chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups to create a different chocolate and nut flavor. Swirl it into the batter before baking for a rich, hazelnut flavor.
  • Dried Fruit: If you want a healthier or alternative flavor profile, you can replace the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups with chopped dried fruit, such as cranberries, cherries, or apricots. This gives the cookies a chewy texture and hints of natural sweetness.

Variations

  • Oatmeal Reese's Cookies: For more texture and flavor, add 1 cup of old-fashioned oats to the dough. You can also use a little less flour to compensate for the oats.
  • Double Chocolate Reese's Cookies: For an extra chocolatey treat, mix in 1 cup of chocolate chips and chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
  • Chunky Reese's Cookies: Instead of chopping Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, use Reese's Miniatures or Reese's Pieces to create larger, chunkier peanut butter pockets.

Equipment

In making this easy and delicious Reese's Cookies recipe, you'll need the following things:

  • oven
  • large bowl
  • medium-sized bowl
  • parchment paper or baking mat
  • beater
  • wooden spoon

Feel free to use whatever is available in your kitchen as a substitute for some of the items listed above.

Storage

  • After the cookies have cooled, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days, depending on the weather where you are.
  • Place a piece of parchment paper between each layer of cookies to maintain their texture and flavor.
  • Avoid storing them in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as this might cause them to spoil or melt.

Top Tip

  • Before mixing the dry ingredients, like all-purpose flour, baking soda, and brown sugar, sift them individually. This easy but very important step would make your cookies nice and evenly textured. It wouldn't be fun biting into a lump of flour in between 🙂
  • Make sure not to put the raw cookie dough balls too close to each other. By spacing them out properly, it will prevent the cookies from sticking together after baking.

I am actually a big fan of peanut butter, especially peanut butter M&M's! In addition, my favorite thing about this recipe was that I added all the wet ingredients to the bowl and creamed them all at once! I'm all about quick and easy recipes, so this would be the recipe if you are looking to make and bake in under 20 minutes!

      Hi there,
It depends. With the cookie scooper, it made 18-20 cookies. If you make smaller cookies, probably 38-40

Can you leave out the peanut butter? Or will that mess up the recipe?

    • Lainey says

Hi Amal, I have not tried it without the peanut butter, however you can replace it with your favorite spread. 🙂 Or use my chocolate chip cookie recipe & replace the chocolate chips with M&M's and Reese's. 🙂 I hope this helps. 🙂
