Anyone else have to do one? My anatomy scan said “no major abnormalities noted” but my doctor today said that some cardiac views were normal, while others were (as per the report): “slightly abnormal with malalignment if pulmonary artery and aorta. This is likely due to projection”
Naturally I’m panicking as with my daughter, I didn’t have any of this.
She said since some views were normal some were not, it’s likely due to him moving a lot and she’s not concerned. I’m still very nervous.
Anyone else have something similar ?

I had my fetal echo 2 weeks ago. I went through IVF, which can put my baby at a higher risk for heart defects. At my anatomy scan the tech couldn’t get every view of the heart and wasn’t concerned since I had my fetal echo already scheduled. Thankfully it went fine!

I had one last week because I’m a T1 diabetic, which means my BG fluctuates a lot more than someone who doesn’t have it causing certain muscles in the heart to enlarge. They also couldn’t get every shot during my anatomy scan because he was way too active. For the Fetal echo it is long, anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and sometimes longer. They will exclusively look at your baby’s heart in detail, blood flow, some vessels. Everything turned out great and I hope yours will too!

I actually just had my fetal echo today! my side and husband’s both have heart defects in our family so they did it as a precaution more than a need. our anatomy scan they said everything looked fine but they wanted to do the echo just in case to get a real good look at everything. the echo is pretty much an ultrasound and they really look good at the heart from all angles, get measurements, see how the chambers are pumping, and look at blood flow. it was nice to have for not only peace of mind for her heart but also bc baby girl was not as cooperative for the anatomy scan to show her face and feet so they were able to check those things today real quick too.
I hope everything turns out to be okay and normal for you!
